Being strung along by dr
I have a Dr who I've seen and he ordered about 15 tests. I have chronic spine, neck and back pain. The last test was over a month ago. No response whatsoever. When I contacted them, they said be patient. I've been patient over the past 6 months enduring all these tests. Last time I spoke with the Dr., I thought he was going to help. He's NOT experiencing the pain, so be patience, seems incredibly uncaring. Give me a appt., tell me move on, something. I'm just wondering how long do I endure being patient. I just want the test result, or do I HAVE to move on ??

Thank you ! I have the best pt ever. BUT, he cannot fix something that literally need repaired. I would not stand for this mistreatment if I didn't have to. My PT who is amazing, can only do so much.
That is totally wrong. I always get results from doctor within 1 week after the test. I really feel bad for you.
There is a shortage of doctors. They can't let you suffer to ask them to intervene while you wait. Or go to the emergency room. They give you an order to be seen in 3 days by a doctor. Your health center has to accommodate that request. Get a patient advocate. Get an online account and write. Call and ask to speak to a triage nurse. Get in their face. Or get your records and find another doctor in the meantime.
Thank you !
Thank you! Too specialized to see just any Dr. I thought I had finally hit a amazing place who would get me to the right dr..... still hanging with the right Dr???
I wish I could but I cant get into Mayo, not taking new people
Which Mayo location are you trying to get an appointment at? I have a friend whose doctor requested a consultation for her. She had a consultation appointment within 2 weeks. This was at the Rochester location.
Being a chronic pain patient, I sympathize with you. It is extremely frustrating. Sounds as if you aught to call, demand an appointment or direct phone call with an explanation of test results. I get rather "mean" sounding when my back is acting up so I try to not call then. You have the right to answers, especially since your insurance & yourself have probably spent thousands of dollars. Pain is hell on earth, to be sure. And when the back & neck are involved, it's worse than that. Be aware/understand that even when there are answers from the tests, there may not be a "cure". Once we (pain patients) accept that, the journey can go one of two ways: acceptance & adaptation. Or., you can choose to keep searching for more answers & hope that there is a cure of sorts.
I'm beginning to think that sometimes you will just have to live with the pain. I'm seeing my 8th doctor who is "Mayo trained" but have yet to get any relief. When you get to a certain age, it can be difficult to get to places like Mayo. That 4 hour drive seems too much although we both drive and have serviceable vehicles. We have no family whatsoever so we are in a bind unless we can hire someone to drive us. That will be difficult since it will be an overnight trip.
Recently I concluded a stay in the hospital where the attending physician, who is treats chronic pain blast her piers as more interested in cookbook medicine with the only real result is to make more money instead of providing real solutions to resolve chronic pain. She contacted my GP to provide her advice on the medications, etc. to treat my chronic pain. I have an appointment with him in a few days to review my treatment options.
