It sounds as if the Doc hasn"t a clue about how to help U. I was diagnosed by a neurologist with progressive neutopathy and diabetess and extreme muscle weakness.. When I inquired about remedies he offerred PT. When I said "U have 8 neurologists here each with a different specialty. Can't one of then help me" the answer was "No". So perhaps what you see as "uncaring" is actually inability. I found that PT and exercising in a pool was somewhat helpful to me.

I agree… I have multiple intertwined chronic conditions, and I’ve gotten by far the most traction from PT and many of them understand better than a neurologist or other physician would about the neurological pain process…and how to turn down those signals. Of course it can be tricky to find the best fit PT, but finding the right person or team has been game-changing for me.
