Hi. This is Meg. I also had this surgery July 30th with C4-5 removed. I am doing fairly well but not up to par. I have my 6 week check up in about 2 weeks and will have an x-ray the same day. The surgery went well but there was a ligament that was thickened and a little harder to pull aside and my bones were much softer than he expected. It's hard for me because I have to stay away from antiinflammatories for healing to occur. I think that's for the first 3 months. I did clean house today for the first time since surgery. I have fibromyalgia, scleroderma, sjogrens, & vasculitis, just to name a few.

Thanks for your reply, Meg. I’m glad to hear both of you are healing, although maybe not as well as you wanted. I can’t take anti inflammatory meds at all, really.
I’ve done some reading to learn the best way forward for me. With Modic changes mentioned on my mri report, I think I will try the ablation. PT did not help, only made me hurt more. It did strengthen some of my muscles.
But if the ablation doesn’t help I’m going to move forward and ask for surgery. It’s really about quality of life, I am so restricted in my activities with this pain.
Thanks for your input and sharing your experiences!
