Gastroparesis, IBS, Lazy gallbladder, Pain..Pain..Pain..
Hi! I hope all is well! At 16 I started with tons of pain and GI issues. I later got diagnosed with Gastroparesis, IBS, Lazy Gallbladder. I am in tons of pain daily, vomit daily, nausea all the time, loose stools, diarrhea and constipation. I have tried everything the doctors are saying but nothing works. I am not with MAYO for gastrology. Should I try them? I do love my doctor though.
They are also recomending gallbladder surgery for the lazy gallbladder. Thoughts? My hide scan was 32%.
What help with any of these issues? Medication? Procedures?

Have you been tested for EPI?
No. What is EPI?
I had same symptoms for weeks. I already knew I had gastroparesis but was so sick couldn’t leave house because I was constantly in the bathroom. Finally stool tested for a battery of tests and was diagnosed with EPI- my pancreas was not producing enzymes. I am now on Creon and although I still have some issues it allows me to live a somewhat normal life. Good luck!
Reading up on gallbladders from a Cleveland Clinic post, and having IBS-C, wide-ranging food intolerances, and a redundant/slow colon, I would recommend focusing on the gallbladder issue and finding a specialist for that, as I sure don't have most of your issues and your gallbladder alone could account for just about every symptom you list, per my quick read of this Cleveland Clinic article (it is a great "gut" center like Mayo): https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/23932-biliary-dyskinesia
Also, check out the specialties of the gastros on the Castle and Connally website. It is not an MD "pay to play" advertising platform, as you cannot "buy" your way onto its list and it is supposed to list the top 7% of MDs. See if your current gastro is on it. Find someone that specializes in gallbladders that does surgery in your region or at Mayo or Cleveland Clinic. Many gastros have sub-specialties. I would want an MD/surgeon with a gallbladder sub-specialty if possible. At least for a new opinion, no matter how much you love your current Gastro. You have been suffering with this for a long time.
kmr756 - Your suffering sounds awful. You did not give your current age. My husband just began with symptoms within the last two years and has been diagnosed with slow (lazy) gallbladder. He is 71. His symptoms have only plagued him every 4-6 months. He has consulted with a general surgeon and as soon as his knee replacement allows, he will have it removed. Best of luck to you. Bless you for your dedication to your current but sounds like it is time to move on. Pray you get this suffering behind you very soon.
I have no gallbladder and I was diagnosed with gastroparesis within a 2-month period I had type 2 diabetes.
My brother did not listen to the doctors and died from complications. I have had bariatric surgery, lost over 100 lbs, changed my eating habits, and have been doing better listening to doctors. It is hard to go through everything and my prayers go out to you
Prayers for you!! I had my gallbladder out several years ago...I live very rural..very.. and a good medical faciltiy is hard to find (our ambulance came and they couldn't even administer zofran.. just had a "barf bag"..;. so the next time when my blood pressure dropped to 60/40 due to colitis.. I requested the ambulance with all "the stuff"..) So I've had issues all my life with constipation.. but in Dec 2019 the journey began.. 14 trips to ER in 1 year ..only 4 so far this year.. I'm a 70 year old widow.. and have had so many "near death" experiences.. my doctor is "blown away".. all the misdiagnoses.. pancreatic elastase..left perifacial effusion.. and every time I ask ..retest.. negative!!!.. scleroderma makers keep going up and the rheumatologist says "you don't have it".. he's a tongue talking filled with the Spirit Chrisitian ..and so am I.. I say.. (I don't know your religious preferences.. but by HIS stripes we are healed!! Isaiah53:5 ) and.. I drink 2 Vanilla Plant Based Ensures a day.. (can't take vitamins..some ingredients aren't tolerated well) ..my Vitamin D level is normal again.. my AST and ALT are normal again.. and I kept my tooth (I got down to 98 pounds and had scurvy..now up to 144) This week got diagnosed with tortuous colon...giving it to GOD!! Prayers for you for complete healing!! NO matter who the doctor is.. Jesus is the healer!! Standing with you !!!!
