After TKR still have warmth and new pain

Posted by zoobird1 @zoobird1, Aug 29 11:34am

It’s been eighteen months since my TKR and the area around my knee and knee itself is still warm to the touch. In February for my yearly I had bloodwork and everything is normal. (I had the surgery in another state and we’re back home now.)
The large numb areas have reduced to the kneecap and sides and I've started to experience such tightness and pain and the past few days it's been constant. Is it hurting because nerves are still regenerating? I’m getting discouraged.
I treadmill for about 35 minutes 3-4 times a week. Should I stop and rest it for a while?
I've resumed taking 4 mg of Tizanidine at bedtime. My orthopedist here can't see me til mid October. Meanwhile I appreciate any advice.

Sorry to hear you’re in pain …. But for me I have to exercise everyday when I miss I feel tight ….i know as time goes on scar tissue does make it tighter …..you can try myofascial release find someone who is trained by John barnes he was the pioneer …. They have a website you can go on find someone in your area one other thing is Graston technique…. Both of these help with scar tissue …. One other thing you may want to walk at least 1 mile a day just to keep scar tissue from building…..good luck

I’m coming late Into this conversation, but I’m hoping that maybe some of you can help me. I had a total knee replacement 14 months ago and I’ve had issues the last three or four months. my ortho surgeon thinks it’s because the space in my knee is too small. As time is going on when I walk, I get more more pain in my hip that radiates from the top of my knee through my thigh and down my shin he’s talking about doing revision surgery to replace the spacer. I’m so afraid to do it because I don’t want to have to go through surgery again, healing, PT, it’s making my gait so that I’m afraid not to do it. Anybody have any experience with us? I’m having a hard time finding information about spacer revision surgery online.
