Welcome @retneprac4465, I'm 81 and have lower back issues which I think are related to flat back syndrome but I have been leery of seeking surgery as a treatment. You didn't mention how it is affecting your life but I imagine that is why you want to get it corrected.

There are quite a few members who have started discussions and commented on scoliosis surgery. You might want to scan through the list while you wait for members to respond. Here's a link to the discussions and comments - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=Scoliosis%20surgery.

How long have you been diagnosed with scoliosis? Have you been seen at a major teaching hospital or health facility like Mayo Clinic?

I was diagnosed in my teens. I was seen at Scripps Scoliosis Clinic/Dept., and also at UCI, by an orthopedic surgeon & a neurosurgeon, all earlier this year. My discomfort and deformity have increased with time, which is why I’m seeking treatment. I do exercises & walk a mile and a half or two, 4 or 5 times a week. I realize that my quest for a procedure is likely going to be for naught, but it’s worth a try.
