PCOS and type 2 diabetes

Hi! I hope all is well!
I have been diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 16 and type 2 diabetes just a couple months ago. I have heard that the two go along with each other. Every sense I was diagnosed with type 2 and PCOS I have been gaining so much weight and nothing is helping. I have changed my diet, worked out all the time and take metformin. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but in the past year and a half i have gained 60 pounds. Any advice? What are next steps?

@kmr756 Everything you described is correct. As a male, I read about this common hormonal problem among women from the Cleveland Clinic, a very reputable health clinic. If the metformin prescribed for you is by an endocrinologist, you may wish to seek his/her help. Otherwise, your gynecologist can surely help. The weight gain can follow PCOS and diabetes according to the Cleveland Clinic. Seeing a dietitian can help as well.
