Need your prayers!

My husband's lung cancer has taken a turn for the worse. I would deeply appreciate any and all prayers for him! He's using his nebulizer every 2 hours and is on Prednisone and Morphine. We get up two to three times a night since he is gasping for breath and needs to use his nebulizer. He gets breathless just walking down the hall. He was in the ER two weeks ago. We don't have hospice yet but may have to eventually. I don't know what they could do. I'm doing everything. However, a doctor would come to our home since Ed isn't well enough to go to the doctor's office.

I know that God is in control and always has been. Everything is in God's time. We pray often. We both know that we'll be in Heaven together in the future.
Thank you so much for your prayers!

Thank you for the kind words! You are right. I needed rest just like that lady did that you mentioned. We were almost to the point of getting help with hospice when my husband died. I miss him terribly but I'm so glad that he's up in Heaven now with God and Jesus and our loved ones. I pray a lot to God to help me get through this difficult time and he has. I have encountered a lot of very nice people that have helped me; not charging me for services, or fees, the neighbor taking me to my eye appt. (I can't drive with drops in my eyes.) and even the guy who runs the gas station showing me how to correctly put gas in my car and telling me, "Anytime you have problems you just come in here. We'll help you!" I've always been terrible at putting my own gas in my car! But I'm getting better with his help.
I could still use your prayers to help me continue to get through this difficult and lonely time.
Thank you so much!

I would hold your hand, and just be quiet. There are no words. May God's very presence be with you now.

You are a beautiful and compassionate woman. I pray that your family, friends, and community uplift your spirits and support you in this challenging time. You have placed the care of your husband’s condition on God’s altar. Rest assured God will bring to him all that he needs. Now he needs you to rest in your faith and feel the love from the Holy Spirit to strengthen you and give you peace.

Thank you for your very kind words! My husband died on July 7. But I know he's up in Heaven with God and Jesus and our loved ones. Also he's no longer breathless and terribly uncomfortable. I know that we will be reunited eventually in Heaven together. I have no family left and very few friends. I'm 78 and most everyone has died. But I have found kindness in perfect strangers and especially here on the Mayo Forum! Thank you so much!

I pray for all of you.

Father, I come to you today because you are the great healer. Your grace and mercy abound, and I know we can ask anything in the name of your Son, Jesus and it will be done. So, Father God I ask that everyone here receives your healing water flowing down upon them from your throne. I ask in Jesus name.
We know you have a purpose and a plan for our lives. So, if you choose to heal us when we get to Heaven we honor and accept your plan. You know our hearts.
Thank you for your love. Susan

very very sorry for your loss.

My mom passed in June 2023. My wife's mom passed in October 2023...just three weeks after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Then another relative within a month. And then my wife's sister-in-law got diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

What a year!

Was not sure how I survived it.

I just have been taking it very very very easy and slow. Taking tasks away from me. Just trying to stay calm and as relaxed as I can.

There's been a lot of crying, I can tell you that.

But, like you, I also have faith. I believe God is merciful and He gives us experiences for our learning and benefit. And I believe that when our loved ones pass, they pass into profound peace and happiness.

So, that helps me.

I am quite ill. I have been told that I could pass away at any time. But I was told that 12 years ago, so I don't know what to believe. It has been quite scary at times. I guess that being on the edge has taught me a lot about faith. I never thought I could develop faith at this kind of level. Maybe that is the lesson that I am learning. To have faith through the most difficult experiences.

Again, so very sorry for your loss.

Take care now.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of several family members; one right after another! That must be very devastating and sad for you! It's good that you have faith in God. I know it's what has gotten me through the recent loss of my husband. However, my husband and all your family members who died are up in Heaven now with God and Jesus and out of pain. They are reunited with other family and loved ones who also have died; and will eventually be reunited with both of us! That's in the Bible; the King James Version; not the one they re-wrote!

I'm so sorry that you are ill! I hope you are feeling better now. They may tell you that you are dying but only God knows when. Keep that in mind and pray often. I will pray for you also.
God bless you!
