Keratitis

Posted by sassy1 @sassy1, Aug 30 5:25am

I recently started treatment for keratitis in one eye. I'm still trying to understand how this condition developed. Wearing my contact lens overnight may likely have caused this. However, it was a brand new contact lens and I only wore it for one night. I have several autoimmune conditions, and this one has been particularly challenging. This condition started at the beginning of a family vacation, which is the third time a medical problem has affected our family time. Has anyone else been in a similar situation with their family? It's been difficult to balance family and my health issues.

Hello @sassy1

Here is an article from the Mayo Clinic website with information about the causes and treatments.

I also did a search on Connect (you will see a "Search" bar at the top of each page), I found a number of discussions on Keratitis. From looking at these posts, it appears that there are different types of Keratitis and can be caused by different factors, such as infection, fungus, injury to the eye, etc.

I would encourage you to read the posts and to ask questions of the members who have posted about this disorder. In that way, you can learn from the experiences of others.

Do you know the cause of your keratitis? What has your doctor suggested as a treatment?
