My CRP ( inflammation ) was high at 12 ( it had never been > 0.8) and my MD who is an internal med doctor but also practices alternative and functional told me to take NAC 1200 mg twice a day and just rechecked it after 3 .5 months and it is now 3.6!
Liposomal glutathione may be absorbed better but it’s hard to absorb it apparently. As long as you can break down NAC ( I had heard some people don’t have an enzyme ? Or something like that? to convert it well though) NAC is better from what I’ve read. Glutathione is the most amazing anti oxidant and anti inflammatory we hace in our body. (Taking acetaminophen (tylenol) shuts down Glutathione production in Body for several hours. ). NAC can also thin mucous in lungs. Apparently it was used as far back in 1963 as a drug for obstructive Lung issues.

Yes, many years ago, before Mucinex, my ENT had me use NAC, but it was a powder and hard to manage. When time-released Mucinex became available, I was happy to switch. For the past several years I have used both, and find the combination helpful. The NAC also seems to help tame my fibromyalgia

Such good information! So you are using only the oralNAC without injection or infusion? Have you found it has decreased your cough or makes it easier to clear your lungs?

What specific brand of NAC are you using?
