Bladder Cancer: How is a urostomy connected?

I'm currently on my second infusion of Chemo for bladder cancer.....

At some point the VA hospital in Madison, WI plans to surgically remove both my bladder and prostate.

Apparently my kidneys will be connected to an abdominal stoma and urine collection bag.

What is used to make those connections... flesh from elsewhere, plastic tubing, whatever?

I had a radical cystectomy in June of 2023. I had a reaction to the adhesive spray from the beginning until a Ostomy nurse switched me to the Brava adhesive wipes. Have been using them for a year and no problems other than Medicare will not pay for the wipes, just spray.

It’sa cakewalk after you heal up, 2 weex.
They use a piece of your intestine and channel it to the outside of your stomach.
I wish mine were lower but I often forget about it out the bag.
