Small Fiber Neuropathy and Vitamin Deficiency
What vitamins should I be taking? I have tremors all over my body. Almost like Parkinson’s disease. Is this a vitamin deficiency or part of my disease? Also,, itch all over my body all the time. Worst towards end of day. Doctors don’t know anything about my disease. No help there.
Thank you

I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and may be getting infusions. Has anyone had infusions and do they help with neuropathy? I’m very depressed and suffering so badly. My legs and feet are so painful. I take lyrics and noritriptoline.
So sorry your suffering. Infusion did nothing for me.
How did you know you needed an infusion? Is this for pain or to cure a condition?
Hi @debbiehirsch
There are many types of infusions, not all for cancer. I would not be here without my iron infusion. My iron was at 6, and the related numbers were just as bad.
There are infusions for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and I think Rituximab is used for that also.
For neuropathy Ivig is used, which can work with your body, or not. I have IVig and I think it took at least a year for me to feel better. I do not know if it truly has any effect on my neuropathy (not why I have it), I have tried many treatments and do many things to help it not get worse. After I have a Shockwave treatment..ahhhh... @hjohnbishop or another mentor can bring up the information on the 525 protocol, as that helps too. There are no cures at the moment, but an individual can do a lot to help themselves. It takes work, the neuropathy might not get better, but it might not get worse. I think a combination of things work for me.
Hi @debbiehirsch, There are quite a few member discussions and comments on infusions for neuropathy. Here's a search link that shows them if you want to scan the list - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=infusions+for+neuropathy
There are also a lot of discussions and comments on what helps neuropathy - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=neuropathy+what+helps
What is a shockwave therapy? Does it help with neuropathy? Do infusions work?
Tks
Debbie
Hi @ diehbbiehirsch,
Shockwave is a type of percussive treatment that is offered at a physical therapist. It may work for you, and it may take more than one visit for it to work, also as with most treatments it may not work the first time if at all.
I have also used with great success low level or cold laser. That is usually 2x a week for 4 weeks. I have IVig but not for neuropathy, my immune system did not react well to chemo. So my chemo caused the neuropathy and I have been battling ever since. I am on the right side of the grass, there is that, and I am grateful.
The Nortriptyline doesn’t help??? What type of neuropathy do u have??
May I ask, how (or who) diagnosed "small fiber neuropathy"? It seems very specific for you to be getting no help with it now.
The itching could be caused by whatever medications you are now taking. That's a common allergic reaction.
I don’t what the specific name of my neuropathy is called. They are still waiting for more blood work to come back. I have neuropathy in hands, legs and feet. I was wondering if anybody had a decrease in symptoms with IVIG treatments?
Tks
Debbie
