Breast Cancer and Neuropathy
Greetings to members just getting started and those that like me are in survivor ship mode. My aily prayer always s include my sisters and brothers in the fight. Can anyone tell me if they have neuropathy sensations from taking Medication daily(Letrozole) . I have had this now for almost 3 yrs. AM taking B complex tablets daily it has lessened it but it still happens some times very severe. But if this is all i got along with the interrupted sleep patterns, elevated cholesteral, weight gain( I work out 4-6x a wk and diet control) so just the little battles are okay but that neuropathy is not good. hang in there . .

My oncologist office suggested highly that I take Claritin after treatments.
It helps me! Definitely try it if your doctor suggests.

2 ReactionsThere are lots of studies done if you research. I had myself debilitating pain and carpal tunnel in both arms & feet.
Google: Aromatase inhibitor (AI)-induced musculoskeletal symptoms (AIMSS)

1 ReactionIs anyone using duloxetine to counter neuropathy? If the neuropathy isn't managed it could be permanent.
I am 2 years after lumpectomy and radiation. At 18 months, I out of nowhere developed neuropathy. Have had all the tests with no cause. I went off of Anastrozole for 4 weeks. I didn't think it made a difference. Once I started back up, the pain was so intense. I will make an appt. with oncologist. I assume it will come down too if I want to take the medication or not. I don't like this quality of life but will stress everyday about the cancer returning. I am 66 and had a full hysterectomy 20 years ago. I can't believe I have an estrogen in my body. Was your doctor not concerned about you not taking the estrogen blocker or did he/she leave that up to you?

1 ReactionYes I have suffered with neuropathy since after my mastectomy going on 3 years now. Some days are horrible. I take Letrozole and I have tried others. Letrozole is my fourth pill. The side effects are bad. I take it to keep my estrogen in control. Other than that I would stop all this medication. It altered my whole body and I don't feel like myself most days.

1 ReactionI got neuropathy after chemo-- taxotare, etc. I have not found a connection between taking AI and worsening of symptoms. I do take Claritin daily and I think that helps with the muscle/bone pain... I think🤷🏼♀️

These doctors are not concerned about your complete care. They making money off giving you these medications so they are supporting pharmaceutical company's because money. They are not trying to cure you just only treat you. You have to advocate for yourself. And not take everything they give you. Take what's important for your body. I take natural herbs and it has helped alot. I still take letrozole because of high level estrogen. Listen to your spirit as to what you need to do not man. These drugs are set up to destroy our body.
