I feel a pad under both feet

Posted by rocr @rocr, Aug 23 3:27pm

I feel a pad under both feet, but the right foot is more severe. I need to know the how long before it turns into total insensitivity.

The first day I took 600 mg of Alpha lipoic acid, it helped about 80%, but no progress after that with 1800 mg per day.

I need someone with the injectable alpha lipoic acid experience.

Thank you.

Welcome @rocr, You ask a question that would probably be what anyone with those symptoms would ask. Unfortunately, in my non medical opinion, it's also a question that I don't think anyone can answer. I have idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy that began as numbness in my toes on both feet 40 years ago and mine has progressed into my feet and legs but it has been better the last few years.

While you wait for members who have experience with Alpha Lipoic Acid injections, you might want to scan through the comments made by members on the topic of ALA injections. Here's a link to the comments - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=alpha%20lipoic%20injections.

Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy? Do you mind sharing a little more about your diagnosis and any other symptoms?

So sorry for you. When I started with neuropathy the doctor said that good shoes were most important to be always worn, inside shoes and outdoor shoes. I do that now and it has made a huge difference.

John,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a very informative, helpful reply to my condition.

No, I have not been diagnosed with neuropathy but the pads under the feet are very concerning.

I am going to further explore the links you put in and continue my research to report to you and others.
