Similar experience....lay in bed with mind racing....sleep a couple of hours then awake for a couple....cannot turn off my thoughts and mind. Melatonin no help.....large does....not much effect. I have had some success with Lorazepam...but concerns on addiction. Wake up drowsy...takes a few hours to get going. Keep me posted on your progress....

A little more background. Xanax at .5 mg does not give me a hangover and I feel great the next day even only getting 5 hours sleep. I've tried other medications but I feel horrible very hungover the next day. If you haven't tried Xanax and you are able to get some, give it a shot I don't think you'll be disappointed. And when I say 5 hours sleep, that's 5 hours and no waking up. Without the Xanax I wake up at least six times a night. Occasionally , I will wake up and not be able to get back to sleep. Supposedly, inositol will enable you to get back to sleep. Take about 1 gram when you can't get back too sleep. However, in your case if you're waking up anxious I'd really give lithium oratate a try, 5mg-10mg. Its cheap and easily accessible. Even with the lithium or any of the supplements that I have taken in the past I get up at least six times a night. But I am able to get back to sleep most of the time. My problem is getting too sleep. Some nights I don't get to sleep at all unless of course I take Xanax. I follow rules of thumb with Xanax to keep it from being addictive. No more than 0.5 mg every other night. Take it before 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. I have taken it as late as 3:00 in the morning but then I get up at around 9:00 and half my days wasted, but I do feel good. Last night I tried some of my old supplements along with lithium. I took 500 mg of taurine with 500 mg of glycine, the synthetic version, along with 5 mg of lithium. Like I stated, it takes about an hour for anything too kick in for me. I did go to sleep but again I was up six times. I feel fine today which is great. I took the stack after laying in bed for about an hour. I have found being proactive to be much better than laying there in bed for 4 hours before I take something. However, since I'm still experimenting I give myself till 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning to go to sleep. As long as I have the Xanax to fall back on, I'm okay with experimenting. Hopefully, next week I'll have some results from the picamilon. One last note, probably the best sleep I've had in a long time was when I took Xanax before I went to bed. I only took a half a milligram but I slept all night, as opposed to waiting till 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning and only getting 5 hours sleep. I generally go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m.
