Thanks for asking that question.
As far as recommending or sharing products you have found helpful or asking question of others is fine. Mayo Connect guidelines restricts commercial postings, self-promotion, advertisements or solicitations
But, sharing experiences and information is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Many supplements may interactive negatively with other medications you are taking, so always ask provider before taking a supplement.
With that being said, I will give my personal experience with Omega-3, fish oil. My eye doctor first recommend for dry eyes, and then years later a nutritionist recommend a screening for Omega-3, she recommend the same brand, Nordic Naturals. Since first started taking, they have add lemon taste to it. Many people did not like original taste. I take 1280 mg daily.
If search Mayo Connect for "Fish Oil" or "omega-3" you will find discussion in many of the support groups.
Hope that helps. Do you have specific reason for adding Omega-3 to your supplements? .
Thanks for your reply. As it happens I chose Nordic Naturals Omega 3 fish oil even before I read your reply. I'm taking Omega 3 because, from what I read, our diets are usually out of balance between Omega 3 and Omega 6, which can have health consequences. When I looked at what I had been eating, my Omega 6 was much higher than 3. Even olive oil has much high 6 than 3 when it should be the reverse. Thanks for the good advice. I will definitely check with my oncologist before starting the oral chemo to see if I can continue with the Omega 3 oil.
