I do something similar with plain old ginger spice. I like McCormick's. I make a "milk tea," with some milk, ginger, cocoa powder, stevia drops and water. I then heat it up in the microwave. It helps with bloat and gas and that should help with constipation too (which I have). I also have a "severely redundant" colon and avoiding gas helps my digestion move along the twists and turns.
