We got .3" of rain yesterday. The first in more than 60 days. It helped out some of the massive fires burning here in Oregon, but of course our fire danger level did not go down. The rain as accompanied by thunder and lightning.

This morning it was a treat to see some raindrops still on my rose bush leaves! And I expect in the next few days there will be sudden pops of green everywhere. We do not supplement water anything, except my roses and other plants. The grass dies off in summer. The mama deer and her twins [they still have their spots!] should be though here again soon to check out any new growth to munch on.

I’m glad that you finally got some rain! My brother lives in Portland and he told me how surprised he was that they had thunder and lightning too!

We’ve had quite a few monsoon rains in the last couple of months in Arizona. I’ve never been so grateful for the rain until I moved here five years ago!
