@equanimous Oh Arlo, sorry for the loss of your friend, and for the scare you are having right now.
If you are worried about the scan, or claustrophobic, the radiology labs are used to it, and they can give you something to relax. If they do, you will need a driver.

Hopefully the PET scan findings will indicate this is related to an infection - @scope and a few others have had this experience, it is not uncommon with long-term bronchiectasis.
