@creondave

Sorry to hear that you are having issues like this. I am on Creon due to my pancreas not creating enough enzymes, and both the disorder and medicine resulted in occasional severe IBS issues of both diarrhea and constipation. I tried some over the counter probiotics in pill form, as it allegedly helped someone I know that is also on Creon.
May I ask what kind of probiotics you take as a suppository? And was this through a prescription from a doctor, or did you decide to do this as suggested by someone else?

I hope this is not too nosey, I am just concerned to have so many issues with nutrition since my late 40s, and I am 54 now. Hopefully I can get a better grip on the symptoms in order to stay healthier as I age, and I am open to trying something so long as it doesn't exacerbate my IBS issues.

I am using up the Creon and take the OTC (actually on line) pancreatic enzymes by Vital and the rectal (that's what they are!) probiotics I got from bumbiotics (apparently I can't give you the link but put in bumbiotics and they are in CA. The nausea from the dumping thing has diminished and/or stopped and I put on few pounds. My bro was diagnosed with Chrones and given prescribed meds. He hates taking those and just about cured himself with the probiotics and an herb he takes (I can't think of the name of it, ,but he makes a paste (it tastes awful to me and I can't stand it). So he gave me the site for the probiotics. They are pricey--$90 I think for a months' supply plus $15 shipping--they come 2 days Fed Ex with an ice pack--they have to be kept in the freezer. Note: if money is an issue--send an email and you might get a code for 20- or 30% off (my total was $78 for everything. I have found that 2 days on and 1 day off for me works for now. I am 80 and tip the scales at 79 (I know--it only took 8 short years to figure out the malabsorption thing) food was just going right through me due to dumping--now it stays there longer with the creon/OTC and the probiotics. Good luck--might be worth a try.

Creondave,

What tests did you have to diagnose enzyme issues? Are they pancreatic enzymes? OOPS!! I just re-read your post and you stated it's pancreatic enzymes. I just found out that I have partially fatty infiltrated pancreas, from a report of a CT w/contrast. No dr bothered to tell me anything. My endocrinologist, dealing with Hyperparathyroidism, incidentally saw it, tested my insulin blood levels and stated that my pancreas was fine. In your experience, is this enough to know that all of the other pancreatic enzymes are fine
Thanx, ShelleyW

Have you tried or heard anything about the new probiotic SEED,that is being widely advertised now?
