I had both cervical (C5-C6) and lumbar spine (L3-L5) and both surgeries were invasive, especially my lumbar surgery just done on 8/2/2024. Never had any issues with infections. They have you prepare for surgery by using certain cleaning soap (like used by surgeons before surgery), changing sheets so they are clean, and wearing new pajamas night before surgery. You may get bloodwork, urinalysis, CT scan, EKG, etc. prior to surgery to make sure you are healthy enough for surgery. They won’t do surgery if you are not cleared.

What type of minimally invasive surgery do you need to help you walk better and reduce pain? I needed to get laminectomy and fusion to decompress my spinal cord/nerve roots that were causing my pain, weakness, numbness in lower back, hips/buttocks, legs and feet.
