Was just put on Ozempic for diabetes, weight is not an issue.
Been a 'gestational' diabetic for over 25 years. Was on insulin, then pills now Ozempic and pills. Female, 76 and my weight is not an issue. Three weeks have passed, no side effects so far. Has anyone experience to share. Thank you

Ozempic is strictly for Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 should not take it. This one reason Type 2 diabetics are having trouble getting it. Was this an Endocrinologist that proscribed to you?
Type 2, Dr and hospital diabetic clinic prescribed, now 6 weeks and only side effect was recently. Low blood pressur 90/50, blood pressure meds reduced in half and all is good.
Thank you
i'm Type 1B. i do not understand this. but it was discussed by 2 Endos. to see if it was worth the risk. then the 3 of us decided it might be worth it. it was at first. but i should have stayed with the low dosage of 0.5 mL. instead of the 1 mL. OK??? that's when i had problems with the Gastroparesis. being affected. i quit taking Ozempic. but it was a little late. where i ended up in the hospital for a week after having my stomach pumped out. no fun there. but i'm doing much better as of now.8/17. Daniel
I was told Ozempic was only for Type 2 and max dosage would be 0.5 mL
Best wishes for better health.
during that discussion with the two Endos. it was never brought up as being for Type 2. now rereading my comment. i was wrong stating the dosage. it started at 0.25mL. than i advanced to the full dosage of 0.5 mL. after first doing the lower dosage for 4 continuance weeks. than you increase to the max dosage. i'm sorry for that mistake i made.
i hope this clears up any questions of what I did. danny5
About 15 yrs ago, sugars began to be more balanced. Was taken off Insulin & put on pills. My sugars are now still about the same, 10.0 mmol/L (180.18 mg/dL) blood work done 5 Aug. Just recently started the 0.5 mg Ozempic (standard here for diabetics) . I am not trying to loose weight. Dr said it takes a few months to see changes, Only one new experience, missing breakfast caused me low blood sugars, 90/50. I take meds for high blood pressure. Dr cut my dosage in 1/2 . Blood pressure better and do not skip breakfast. If you start Ozempic drink extra water. Was on Jardiance but stopped when Ozempic started, still take Metformin. Feeling great now, Best of luck.
