PSA rising after only a year on Apalutamide and Erleada

I have Stage 4 Prostate cancer diagnosed a year ago..metatasized to bones and lymph node.
PSA got as low as 2.6, but in the last 6 months has risen now to 8.
The Oncologist may do Chemo in November. Is this the beginning of the end? Is there recovery after Chemo? Does Chemo get results or just have horrible side effects? Someone told me they would never get Chemo because of the effects.

Thanks for all the great info. Firmagon must be like Lupron or Trelstar that I m on every 3 months. Your hanging in there after 10 chemo. Treatments- doing good. I m impressed.

Numbers. I am 3.8 months PCa. My PSA was headed downward for 3 years. Now it's headed upward. At 70 Years old, soon to be 71, I've learned from so many of my advanced prostate cancer buddies that I am following a normal PCa path. My oncologist is introducing me to new treatment solutions, which always give me hope. Hope plays a giant positive role in my survivorship.
