I had a bad cough for a few weeks. One day it turned to vomiting and diarrhea(blood). I passed out on the bathroom floor. My wife found me a couple hours later. I was rushed to hospital, they found an a ulcer through a gastro but said it had stopped bleeding.

A couple of days later it started to bleed again and The did a total Gastrectomy(this happen in last couple of weeks)

I was after advise about recovery, eating etc.

Wow, what an emergency situation.

Did your provider / surgeon give you any advice on post op diet? I am guess it would be similar to post bariatric surgery diet. Very liquid with gradually adding food.

Important to make sure you get protein, many people after bariatric surgery have problems mainiting protein. Protein shakes might be an option.

You might ask surgeon to refer you to a nutritionist about post op diet.

How is recovery going?
