It's good that you have discussed the pain with your cardiologist to insure it's not caused by a blood clot. I'm assuming the pain you are describing in your calves is not related to exercise but here is an article that discusses possible causes.

It has a lot to do with getting enough exercise for me. If I am not able to walk outside, I'll walk indoors. That stretch really works too.
