Latest research - woldwide it seems - is that nicotine is not addictive. Tobacco giants put pyrazine and around 599 other chemicals in cigarettes - these are waht pushes addiction.
Research also shows that nictone has receptors all over our bodies and is in many vegetables.
I lost taste and am not on 2 mgs nicotine in lozenge form. Best to begin with low dose.
Brainfog has lifted and i have more energy. I do notice my sense of smell is back and some taste

I did the nicotine patches for over 6 weeks, working up the dosage. I never had any side effects but I also did not receive any benefits. I have decided that it will come back when it's good and ready or perhaps never.
I am lucky not to have any other lingering issues.

I chew half of a 4mg Nicorette gum middle of afternoon; first few times felt a little dizzy, so always sit and watch tv for about 15 minutes. My Long Covid symptom has been weird feeling in lungs; that has gotten better; I plan to continue using the gum. There's a great video by Dr. Ardis, who recommends this.
