Since I can't edit the original post, hear are some updates.
The Mechanic using the Gundry book The Plant Paradox reported weight loss at 13 LBS after 3 weeks (yesterday). It occurs to me Gundry may very well have realized that the "suppliers" of various health food products which "big Ed" used were full retail and very expensive. It is possible that Dr. Gundry was accomplishing many goals simultaneously by making his own concoctions: 1. higher quality
2. purer and stronger ingredients
3. more cost efficient
4. the opportunity to achieve a business income
In effect, he is getting paid for the (brain) work he does. The mechanic told me you don't have to buy the pills, just follow the advice and guidelines in The Plant Paradox. I still haven't read the book yet, so the jury is out on if Gundry does share the key information in his books.
If he is only interested in money, as YOU SAY, then why make the money with a healthier solution than what past science has provided Humankind? Why not just make money along with Big Pharma and the pre-existing medical science solutions that YOU seem to think he owes us knowledge of? In fact, why not make his money selling illegal drugs like drug lords do? Surely that is good money, right?
In fact, why do you believe (clearly you do) that he should share all of his previous research in detailed analysis with us in order to offer us a better solution? Don't you think he ought to be considerate of our time and not waste it going over a mind numbing self-analysis of his discovery path of his NEW solution for us? Doesn't he have a right to keep some of his research confidential like all businesses do? Perhaps, he is saving our time by providing us with a succinct review of his discovery, and a good logical reason for providing it to a Humanity that sorely needs it.
And why can't he make money providing us with better health? It sure as hell beats the insane costs of life saving treatments and procedures the current Medical Establishment has held us hostage to. Making money for providing solutions is what all good businesses do. Why does that have to be demonized? He even talks about this sufficiently that we could learn how to use his solution without even buying his products, but he provides us his product just in case we want to maximize our results. I don't see anything wrong with that.
By the way, I have not tried any of this yet, but I am thinking I will because it sounds very reasonable and logical to do so, and I haven't heard one credible argument with any significant facts that demonstrate he is doing something wrong hear. I like what I hear when he talks about this health issue. I may not know all the medical terminology used in this science, but I definitely get the ideas involved, and they are sound reasonable arguments and explanations of what is happening.
I don't want to say anyone is wrong, or even that you are wrong. I'm just annoyed that people can easily, knee jerk, try to discredit someone, and discourage listeners, without providing any honest or clear facts on the matter of which they speak. Do that, and I will listen with honest interest in what you have to say. It is said, that there are two kinds of people in the world: People who talk about other People, and People who talk about Ideas. I can't stand the former, unless it is praising them for their good works.
Davidskeptic,
I am pretty much a non believer in Dr. Gundry and his pill pushing. He exclaimed that any oatmeal is deadly to our body. I have Celiac disease, later life diagnoses, so my small intestines have suffered max damage. Oatmeal that is prepared in GF certified facilities is a staple for me, when I get really hungry. I did learn that oats do naturally have 2 things that can be problematic for anyone. I don't remember the names right now. Back to the point of my reply, I saw the Plant Paradox diet, but I didn't know that Dr. Gundry wrote it. If you do get the book and you form an opinion about it, I would consider it a huge favor if you would consider just posting a bit about it. I don't read as much as I used to, MCImpairment, is a real bitch, makes my love of reading more complicated than it sounds. Thanx, ShelleyW
