Hi g,
Thank you for your kind reply. Prednisone did help the shoulders and hips but not the neck pain. When the fingers and hand pain started it was a shock. Methotrexate helped that pain but not the body stiffness. Do you ever feel because of our age, the doctors don’t have an immediate interest to research this devastating and debilitating disease? I’m trying to stay positive here!

Hi Karo,
I am certain that your question about docs is 100% true. I think overall, they are just less "available" to all age groups but certainly, many have less tolerance and probably not incented financially to deal with older people. We are just too much trouble and don't generate enough money for them. My experience since PMR has been insulting. And I'll just stop there. I have disengaged with the huge rheum group that has basically overtaken the DC metro area. Will try to find someone else or just get thru this thing with Tylenol (does basically nothing) and CBD or LDN if I ever get up the nerve to take them.
I really do wish you the best and I want to be positive as well. It really helps. Hugs.

Does light exercise help? Swimming and Yoga have keep me mobile - and Prednisone!

I feel so fortunate to have found a geriatric group here. They truly care about us "elders". The nurses and front office staff are soooo patient with everyone. This group has restored my faith in doctors.

Good luck and feel better!
