Blood clots in urine months after prostate surgery and radiation?

No, I didn’t have blood clots or a burning sensation after 4 months. However, I was totally incontinent.

I had similar symptoms for some time. I'd make sure that I was communicating this with my doctor (and did). They tested my urine for signs of a UTI (negative) and essentially said lets keep an eye on it.

I had small clots for about the first month, by 4 they were gone.

It really felt like, and I believe it may have been, a piece of suture that was inside the urethra and came loose after they started to dissolve. It was a burning sensation but later felt like it was a piece of glass in there. One day, just simply gone. I don't know if it was four months but it was quite a while and quite annoying. I was back in the gym for quite some time before it stopped. I wish I'd kept a little better of a journal....

The surgeon didn't really give me any other feedback on it, once it was over his only response was "great".

Any radiation? That’s what tore my bladder up.

yes, 5 days a week for 8 weeks.

My problem began about 18 months later. I passed some serious gig chunks of blood, that was in late 2018, I still pass clots today, not as big and not as often.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but you did ask.😀

Good. question. Yes , after surgery for about 4-6 weeks I had some small clots . They were scary , but resolved . Make sure to mention this to your Dr. These cases usually resolve themselves , But they recommend a Ultra sound or nothing . Keep active and positive . I felt being active and going for light walks , then hikes with the dogs really helped my healing . James on Vancouver Island .

I had blood clots after kidney surgery which obstructed my urethra and made it impossible to urinate--a serious problem. They inserted a catheter and ultimately did an ultrasound, which showed "an AV fistula". It's when an artery and vein are misconnected and can lead to serious consequences. I don't understand what causes it. I needed an embolization procedure to correct it. Probably not your issue but it's definitely worth checking out.

I had that over a year after radiation. Urologist said the prostate was still
extremely inflamed.
