Still having issues following an IV infiltration
This happened on the 5th of July at the ER when I got an IV bag of saline, which I regret, I thought it would be ok but somehow it leaked and luckily it wasn’t the whole bag, otherwise I might not be alive given how insanely bad I’m responding to it now. I’m very astonished there’s little to no antidote for these types of things, especially for those with chronic pain, hypersensitivities and other autoimmune illnesses- which I’m in a diagnostical limbo at the moment, but I know I have autoimmune conditions. I feel I may have scleroderma or any type of disease that imitates it. The saline that infiltrates will not absorb, it’s just lingering and shifting through my body and wrecking it from within, causing constant burning sensations, likely causing permanent damage to the tissues, and this is a full body thing not just limited to my arms. I’m at a loss as to what to do. It hurts immensely. There’s blisters forming, my adipose tissue has been compromised (is dissolving), I feel like this is fatal. I just want the saline out of me and the burning sensation to stop already.

What was the intended purpose of the IV and what are those 4 spots on your arm in the 3rd photo?
How much normal saline infiltrated? I had something similar complicated by them blowing a vein in the process…
It was bc I got injured (shower scald to my head at a hotel with faulty settings) and they put me on IV previously without issues, I should’ve declined given my fairly recent history with MedSpa infiltration - they should’ve caught that in the records before making that judgement call, the spots are blisters forming from the saline lingering beneath my skin.
It’s all so wild the they don’t have even a basic antidote for saline, not where live anyway, it makes me feel like I have to pack up and move just to avoid future gross incompetence. Were you able to get compensation for the infiltration? Some people have sued for these things apparently.
No but i didn't have systemic issues - turns out blowing a vein allowed them to realize the issue and they withdrew it and started over.
