Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?

With SG, our sensory nerves are screaming for input. I have found long sleeves, long pajamas, socks at night, and a weighted blanket helps.
During the day, I find that walking with my four-wheel Walker provides vibrational input through the arms. As I tend to have a heavy and loud heel strike I get both vibration and "joint approximation" input. Initially, I had to wear gloves all the time in addition to gabapentin and pain medication. I have found that by using my hands consistently through the day, even if I spill and drop, it provides the brain some input. The hardest part is mustering up the energy and then patting myself on the back for doing the little things that previously were no brainers. Any activity I do now I consider an opportunity for therapy! Hooray for me.

Thank you. I find exercise also helps or at least draws mind away from the sensations. I’ll try a weighted blanket.

I'll say it too...HOOORRAYYYYY for YOU!! Followed by wild dancing and singing of songs to celebrate YOU!
It's so hard doing what we say we are going to do when we KNOW what we need to do is in our best interest, right? In grade school I hated math and balked at the math homework. My Mom always said. "Judith, you don't have to like it. You just have to do it!" Now I apply that to all the things I need to do to keep myself as independent as possible.
