Anyone see an endocrinologist at Mayo for osteoporosis?
Hi, does anyone see an endocrinologist at Mayo (Rochester location) for osteoporosis that they would recommend? Thx

If your endo at Mayo doesn't seem like a good match is there any way you can switch?
Those of you who have seen Dr Wermer, do you have to go to Rochester askk the time or can your visits be online at time?
You should call the Mayo appointment line and ask. They are very helpful.
I saw Dr. Krupa Doshi at Mayo in Scottsdale. She was the second endo I saw. The only test she did was calcium, most likely because I had done previous testing and sent them my labs. The visit was about an hour long. She said she would handle all refills and would not need to see me until I transition from Tymlos to Reclast. I need to confirm this as I had only been on Tymlos for a couple of months at the time of my visit so that would be quite awhile before I see her again. They did not mention any additional until I see her again so will confirm with them about this as well.
When I first made my appointment in Scottsdale I asked that question. They told me it would be difficult to switch. They don’t like to do it. I don’t know if this is the case for all Mayo locations.
Thank you. I am guessing that is true for all locations. That was I guess, because they are a team. Based on my own experience at Mayo Rochester they won't let you just make additional appt with the doc you saw before you are scheduled from that docs orders from your last visit without their permission.
If I could ask, did you end up taking Prolia, and what was your experience? I’ve had 1
Prolia shot and am wondering if that, vs a bisphosphate, is a better direction. Love
To hear your experience (while I wait for a Dr appt…)!!
Good afternoon, @suzieqqqqq. Thanks for contacting me. My reaction to Prolia for 2 months after 2 years of Tymlos was unacceptable. Various incidents of pain and brain issues were frightening. Because it had only been two months, Dr. Wermers felt strongly that I could jump over to Fosamax, and he was correct. Where is your medical provider in residence?
Chris
I don’t have one yet. The HCS in my geography doesn’t have an osteo expert. I’ve put in a request to Mayo and am waiting to hear back whether they will consult with me.
I think prolia made my neuropathy worst. I had a mild case in my finger tips - each time i
Had a shot within a month the neuropathy got worse. I also think
Covid booster made it worst.
