Hi @lioness, So sorry to hear that you fell and now have lower back pain from the injury. There are a lot of members who have started discussions and commented on spinal cord stimulators. Here is a link that lists the discussions and posts if you want to look through them while you wait for members with experience to respond - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=spinal%20stimulator.

I guess I feel sort of like you about putting a stimulator in my body but if it reduces or removes the pain it would be a different story. Have you talked to your doctor about getting one in particular?

Hi John yes she gave me the book to read and I see her this Wed so I'll look into the post you sent .The back I can manage it's the crushed nerves that gives me constant pain .Hope your doing well Linda

I had the Medtronics SCS for a little over three years. It provided decent pain relief until it suddenly stopped. There was thought that the paddle lead has several electodes that burned out. I had all the hardware removed a few monthe ago. I am looking into a trial of Boston Scientifics' WaveRider, supposedly the top-rated SCS. I'll be postig results of the trial and my phone call psych evaluation.

Did you get X-rays and MRI or CT scan to see if you have any spine fractures, slipped discs/bulges/herniations or stenosis and at what levels to narrow down the source of your pain before recommending and placing a stimulator? Did you break/fracture any other bones in your pelvis/hips? Have they tried spinal injections first to else if they would alleviate some of your back pain? You may need surgery to decompress spinal cord/nerve roots/nerves. Long-term nerve compression can cause permanent damage and pain management just masks the pain.

I have had L3-L5 decompression/fusion surgery on 8/2/2024 to relieve pressure on my spinal cord/nerve roots/nerves that were causing pain/weakness/numbness in lower back, hips, buttocks, legs and feet.
