Recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis
Hello I’ve recently been diagnosed with Gastroparesis and have a question please. I read about a lot of you with g-tubes and implants. Can I ask how long did it take you to get to that point? I’m very scared to think this happens to most at some point.

Thank You! I have not been able to get my stomach medicine filled due to insurance and prior authorization.
Hi if you're ordering from Canada, since its not approved in USA, you have to pay for it out of pocket, I paid 100.00 for 400.pills, good luck
Although I haven’t been diagnosed with gastropares, I am on Metformin and am having nausea issues and vomiting up to 14 hours after I have eaten. I have been diagnosed with pre diabetes. This digestive issue comes and goes and I haven’t been able to diagnose it for myself what would be causing this. The Doctors haven’t been able to diagnosis this as of yet either. I am on several different medications as I’ve got heart disease and early Alzheimer’s disease. I also take medication for stress and anxiety. I am a 64 year old white male. Looking forward to your replies.
I was told to take metoproclamide and when researching I see statistics show it causes Parkinson’s so I would not take it. I stopped eating. I’m watching carefully but it started back again now and I’m frightened. need help people.
Hello, New to the group. I'm trying to find out if anyone can recommend a doctor they saw at Mayo that was an expert in gastroparesis? Thx
How did they diagnose it? Because I think that's my problem and they haven't
really checked me out too much except for endoscopy and coloniscopy, and was told it's ibs-d.
How did they diagnose you? Because I think that that is my problem. But my Doctor has only done an endoscopy and a colanoscopy and diagnosed me with IBS-d.
Delayed Gastric Emptying test
Hi @papo and @anitannapa, Welcome to Connect. Thanks for sharing how you were diagnosed @anitannapa. I thought I would share a link with more information on the different methods used to do the gastric emptying test. Here's some information I found that describes the test.

I'm not sure if it's an option for either of you but Mayo Clinic does have a Motility Clinic. Here's a link - https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/motility-clinic/overview/ovc-20357787.
Thank you for the information. I'm currently trying to get in for an appointment at Mayo. Since I would be traveling from the West to the East coast, I would prefer to choose my doctor vs being assigned one through the Motility Clinic (if indeed that is how it works). Any suggestions?
