Frequent Burping and Prolonged Burps: What Could It Indicate?

Hi everyone,
I've been experiencing frequent burping throughout the day, and occasionally, my burps extend for about 2-3 seconds, almost sounding like a cry. It’s been happening quite regularly, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this?

Is this a symptom of any particular condition or disease that I should be aware of? Should I be concerned and seek medical advice? I appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share.

Thanks in advance!

Hey There, I'm was wondering if you have any other symptoms? I have IBS-C and when I have a flare up I have a lot of burping. IBS-C is pain in my sides from colon spasms and constipation. When the IBS calms down....the burping does too. Praying for you and God Bless You. Keep me posted.

Have you talked to your doctor about the burping? Has it been happening for a prolonged period of time?

I have exocrine pancreatic insufficiency which was being successfully with Zenpep. I developed terrible burping in June of this year that was way worse than anything I’ve ever had. The burps had a yeasty taste and were so constant that I was exhausted. I took pepto bismal for them and it helped some. The dr suggested that I might have developed SIBO with an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. He prescribed a 2 week dose of Xifaxan. It WORKED!!!! The burping went away within a few days. Actually it was manageable after one day on the meds. I’ve had no return of symptoms in the month since I was on it. The dr said I might need another course of the rx in the future if it comes back.
