I have an ileostomy and have a thick output. I drink 8-10 glasses of fluids a day and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Any suggestions on how to loosen output.

I have a ileostomy as well. White apple juice works for me when things thicken a bit too much.

I have an Ileostomy and my output varies considerably. Certain foods like oatmeal cause thick output.
I suggest you try eliminating one food at a time and see how that affects your output. You probably have to eliminate each food for several days in order to see any effect.

I have this little chart of foods and their effects. Tried to post it but couldn't figure out how in the end. Oops...

It says: to soften flow eat more: beans, cabbage, fuid, oatmeal, vegetables, bran, prunes, warm soup & fluids, fruits, whole grain, spicy foods.
