I have esophageal cancer went through chemotherapy and radiation. I just had my surgery 9 days ago. I was in ICU for 1 day hospital for 6 more. I am home now. I have a feeding tube but I can also drink liquids. I go for walks 3x a day. There is pain associated with the incision but I am tolerating it. It is a life changing surgery but definitely worth it. I was also scared but since surgery I see a future.

really wonderful to read your note. I am waiting for radiation/ chemo and likely followed with esophagectomy.

@nrideout Your on the right path. Keep exercising. Eat when you can. My operation was September 3rd 2024. I had stage 3. Today I exercise every day. Eat smart. I can eat what I want. I now sleep normal. Not at a incline. I just finished a 10 month once a month imunetherapy. That ended September 4 2025. Had scans on October 9th. Met with oncologist on October 15. I am no in clinical remission with no evidence of disease. I celebrated for a day. But this is a life long journey. Cancer will always be a part of me. I enjoy today. I don't worry about tomorrow. Hope is a wonderful thing. Never give up. It hasn't been easy this last year. But today. My new normal is pretty damn good.
