PC humor?

I enjoy watching the short YouTube videos from MikeandJoelle. They are a 30 something couple and Joelle’s reaction to her husband’s humor is precious. Some of the ”jokes” are even worth repeating!

I'm an amateur stand-up comic. Do it for fun at open mics but not well enough to quit my day job. I'm actually writing an entire routine about prostate cancer. It still has a ways to go but has been therapeutic.

I have somewhat of a strange sense of humor anyway. My family tends to make jokes at very inappropriate times. My wife had an aneurysm at 42. My daughter had open heart surgery at 22. Now I have prostate cancer at 57. Humor has helped get us through it all. If we make other people uncomfortable, it is even better. Sometimes you just have to find what works for you. Screw everyone else.

I'm going to do a YouTube video in a month or two once the material is tightened up. I work with a writing partner who also does amateur comedy and we're both super critical of each others' work which is what it takes to make sure the jokes are tight and funny.

I firmly believe that humor is the best medicine for all things in life. I have lived in some very interesting and challenging countries, customs, have survived a serious accident and amputation, have ha d 2 cancers at the same time, had some difficulties with business partners, but at the end of the day one must learn to laugh and also laugh at yourself. Since I have also come from a post secondary teaching experience, I consider all of my difficult challenges just another degree toward my Phd of life, and by god I am going to go out with honors Find atleast one thing each and single day smile and laugh
