12 yrs of chronic pain, 14 lumbar procedures, new Rx bad!
For reasons no one explains but, the DEA is simply eliminating all Opioids. A simple and easy way to treat the hundreds of abusers by punishing those with true regional chronic pain syndrome. So after 6yrs 10 months of taking hydromorphone 8mg 5XDay, I was able to managed a large portion of lumbar pain for a 6 foot 3 inch guy. Now a problem with a new medication, Buprenorphine and Naloxone 8mg / 2mg. Problems started fast with teeth. I have never had a cavity, crack or gum issues. Now, this film goes under the tongue until it melts. My rear teeth cracked, top & bottom and broke off. Besides severe gas, diarrhea and very marginal lumbar pain help, I was scratching my head. Looking for side effects on reputable websites listed; Teeth decay, back pain, etc. What am I in for in the future? With electrodes in the epidural space, I may not find a Dr. willing to correct the problem as now surgery is extremely invasive. Dr’s have to do this when fusing a vertebrae to and other. So know, it depends on the neurosurgeon’s experience and tolerance for risk associated with open time in the OR. They may pass on my complex problem and show me the door. No one likes serious surgeries, but even fewer want to live with bad pain and a non-existent quality of life.

Thanks for your reply. I have had a few injections in my spine already but they didn't last. The last one I had was with the doctor who told me I wasn't a candidate for the SCS. The injection hit the right nerve because my leg jumped. Unfortunately, I don't know if it worked because I was diagnosed with poly fibromyalgia rheumatica immediately afterwards, PMR for short is a very painful disease that affects all the major muscle groups. I'm now taking prednisone for that. So basically my whole body hurts. LOL
Have you tried relief Factor. I mentioned go to relief 😮💨 Factor factor.com. mention Glenn Beck for a discount. They say it starts working where it hurts just. You tried everything else you might give it a try and you might want to go to orthopedic doctor what kind of hurt by trying really Factor
I just finished 18 days of steroids starting with 60mg/QD X 3 days, then 50mg/QD X 3 days etc. I’ve gone from excruciating pain that landed me in the ER to being able to walk without a cane for a few minutes at a time. Now I’m trying to do everything I neglected for months due to pain in lower back and left leg pain and weakness. I’ve have multiple steroid epidurals and 2 neuro ablations, none of which helped. I have herniated lumbar discs , facet nerve impingement and “mild” scoliosis. I was told by my pain doctor that if I continued to be in pain that my only option is surgery. He never mentioned a nerve stimulator. Has anyone with similar medical conditions had a stimulator implanted and did it work? I was told by the surgeon that if I had surgery it would be very difficult and would be a long recovery. .
Personally, I always get three opinions. If two of the three are in agreement, I then go for i brotherchuckles80
If you have a herniated disc, a spinal cord stimulator will most likely not help. Here is my reasoning. A collapsed disc is a mechanical issue, holding up your spine and depending on where, it could allow the column to bend and not remain straight. They have excellent luck with brackets, bars & hollow screws, located on the vertebral bodies, they provide permanent spacing for the disc. These a torque in place and only require a couple of days in recovery. A spinal cord stimulator is a tool if electrodes are properly located can disturb pain signals the brain receives but do not fix the bulging disc. I had bone on bone fusions and later the “Harrington Device” modified for the 21st century with torx head screws, proper steel alloys and titanium. It is the best even though there are other devices. Mine cause no problems. Placement of the screws is extremely important and harvested bone chips are place to allow a complete bone fusion to grow over it, supporting it further. The device is supported left to right, top & bottom and secure. Hope this helps you understand and feel better about your choices
Yes, I have heard the same offers on Glenn’s show. Unfortunately, my injury turn the low lumbar muscles into scar tissue that have live nerves. Scar tissue is caused during each surgery, or over stretching the muscles cells to the point of tearing open. At that point, the will contract and grow together into one gigantic mess. Check online for scar tissue and images. It turns organized fibers & cells into a woven carpet with no pattern. Surgeons will tell you that they go thru several scalpels to cut down the vertebral body to perform a fusion. This info was provided by my orthopedic surgeon in 1987. He told me that when I reach the age of arthritis, I would have severe nerve pain. He was right! I wish relief factor would help, but stuck on an early forced retirement doesn’t pay well!
Thanks for the thought, thank you kindly!
Thank kindly, I am seeing a new neurosurgeon next Friday. I crossed my fingers, then tapped them together. 🙂
Praying right now he will be able to help you. Keep me posted.
🙏🙏 may God's your body and heal it and take away the pain in Jesus name
Pain in the heart and body is God’s way of reminding us we are still alive! Looking forward to the next sunrise.
