Gabapentin and Cymbalta side effects
Has anyone experienced loss of appetite, depression, anxiety, dementia, increased pain and swelling in the lower abdominal area plus bloating when levels of Gabapentin- Cymbalta were increased to mitigate intercostal nerve and muscle damage. Thank you.

My experience with Gabapentin was good at first, then a went into a deep depression. I stopped taking it.
How do you stop taking gabapentin do you taper or just stop
I would definitely taper off or you will have horrendous withdrawal symptoms. Even when tapering off I had an upset stomach similar to hunger pains and gurgling. Not to mention lots of leg and back pain returning. Also, it can make you very irritable and inpatient, but everyone is different.
Thank you for your thoughts
Mike - It sounds like your body rebelled to the increased dosage of one or both meds - hard to tell which one. Drug tapers are nothing to mess with, so believe these members. The safest way to do it is to get a taper schedule from your doctor, or better yet, a pharmacy specialist. Especially when trying to taper two drugs at once there could be a bunch of unpleasant symptoms.
Are you trying to stop both meds, or just reduce to a lower dosage? Have you talked to your provider about how to manage it?
Taper with doctors instructions is proper method to stop Gabapentin.
Thank you

STOP TAKING CYMBALTA!!!!!!!!!!!
Please watch these videos that are on You Tube. Its Dr. Phillip Getson at RSDSA conferences 5 years ago. It was like Dr. Getson was reading my medical chart. He stresses to get out of stressful relationships, NO GLUTEN, NO DAIRY, NO PROCESSED Foods, organic as you can. I developed CRPS in 1999 and it affects every inch of my body. I take Gabapentin at night only because it can wipe me out but without it my foot and leg burns so bad. Since 2020 I have done everything Dr. Getson said and I'm back to working full time. My pain is so much better and I have a life back. Also cannibus helps so much!!
Good luck,
@kate2002 Not sure if you can help me but I have taken tramadol for years for severe back pain etc.. . Unfortunately my pcp left and I was given a new pcp who took me off tramadol (which worked for me) and is putting me on Cymbalta for pain. I am interested in your comments. I’ve thought about cannabis and I am aware of the no dairy etc. which is unfortunate because I love dairy. Thank you in advance if you can give me some insight into my recent dilemma with this new pcp. Irene5
