Anyone taking or taken Raloxifene?
After much research and couple of second opinions along with the comments here, I have decided against restarting Tamoxifen. Two doctors have suggested Raloxifene. I know it's not exactly the same but does still offer some prevention. Has anyone taken Raloxifene and if so, what is/was your experience?

I discontinued Prolia after five injections (2 1/2 years). You can read my prior posts for more detail. I cannot take some oral medications due to GERD and other GI issues. I was also concerned about Reclast because of some of its side effects.
My endocrinologist and I landed on raloxifine (Evista) because I had to take something after Prolia and I am a breast cancer survivor. Evista is said to have some protective properties. She explained that this drug is not as “powerful”. I also eat 6 prunes a day and take D3 with K2, both recommended for osteoporosis. I have had no detectable side effects from raloxifene and have been taking it for over a year.
I will have a bone scan in September. It will have been two years since the last one and I will report back as to how much of a backslide I incurred.
Best wishes to you,
Cindy
Thank you so much for the information! I'm glad you aren't experiencing any side effects. Yes, I would love to hear how your scan goes. Best of luck and thank you again.
