Hi @archie2, I can understand your feelings of violation and intrusion on your privacy. This is the very reason that on Mayo Clinic Connect, members can choose usernames or nicknames.

On Mayo Clinic Connect, we have several safety features in place to protect members from commercial posts and spam. Occasionally, a spam post selling a promise of a cure or new technology may get through. For those rare instances, having an active community helps. Members can report posts that transgress the community guidelines (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/blog/about-connect/tab/community-guidelines/).

How to report a comment
1. Click the 3 dots (...) in the lower right corner of the comment.
2. Select "Report comment"
3. Write the reason for the report and SUBMIT.

However, from your message, it sounds like your browser settings may be the culprit. To further protect your privacy, you can choose the "Incognito" setting on your browser to browse the web more privately. Note that using incognito mode also means you will have to sign in every time you visit websites that require sign in, like Connect.
