Have ct abd in 5 days/my symptoms
Chronic diarrhea for yrs cause of ssri meds
doc said constipation vs mass in colon
ct abd friday
did 3 colonoscopy type preps to clear any constipation followed by 3 easy stools
now back to bearing down heavily to get stool going
back to feeling full and unable to bear down enough to move diarrhea out 2 times to this point
i have lost my wife 4 yrs ago to ALS and my son last year to suicide
i am all alone and want to join wife by just doing hospice and comfort care if it is a mass

@robertblanch1, you said you did colonoscopy prep. Have you had a colonoscopy? How old are you?
Best wishes for a good CT scan w/ no masses .
You’ve had full colonoscopy before right ?
My NP PCP just ordered a ct with oral and iv contrast
He thought I was more likely constipated
So I did 2 colonoscopy preps and then had easy stools
Good thing because my obamacare after insurance would have been $8,000
no colonoscopy
NP ordered mag citrate thinking it was constipation

@robertblanch1, in 2021, the recommendation for colorectal cancer was updated to begin screening at age 45. Sounds like it is time to get a colonoscopy and see what is going on.
Robertblanch1, Colleen's recommend re colorectal cancer, sounds like it might have a benefit..maybe try the Cologuard( the one in the box) first. Diarrhea for years, due to SSRIs, sounds awful. What changed to cause such a radical shift from yrs of D, to constipation and dr.s view that you had severe constipation or a mass? That seems like an enormous swing. What type of dr. jumped to such a drastic , and apparently wrong conclusion? Do you have other health problems? I understand the multiple prep for CT, you are a very smart cookie. 17 yrs of CIC, under treatment of GI(general idiot-is how I feel about the dr.) last year I had 2 X-rays, 2 months apart, both read by the radiologists as " probable formation of small bowel partial obstruction. The GI, disagreed and ordered a CT w/contrast ) in 3 weeks. I was so afraid of the 💩💩‼️‼️pain that I ate as little solid food as possible, drank meal replacement protein shakes, lots and lots of water, enough miralax to keep my poop from thin mush to diarrhea. Well, good and bad. I cleared my colon so well that the CT showed no signs of obstruction of any kind, just mushy poop. The bad part was I started eating some more food, still heavy on miralax, cuz after the "clean out " my colon, small and large, jammed up pretty fast. 3 months later I was in ER via ambulance, 3 days in ICU with a nasal gastric tube up my nose and down into my small intestine. A few days home, too tired to take the miralax and 💩💩. The problem of not being able to bear down is real and not fun. Part of my smooth muscle action, needed to poop, is Hyperparathyroidism and elevated calcium. Elevated calcium is not good for smooth muscles. I am not saying you have this, it's just one of a billion reasons for 💩problems. Don't know why, but women have this a lot more than men. But, that doesn't mean men don't have it. Possibly get your PTH, calcium, vitamin D, ionized calcium tested. You can't get a diagnosis off 1 set of tests, you have to have results to be useful. I f you choose to look at HyperPARATHYROID.com and/or swparathyroid.com, both are very reliable sources for diagnosis and symptoms. Do you have a lot of the symptoms listed? But, there's lots of other problems with many of the symptoms. Best heartfelt prayers for your comfort. Shelley
Shelley,
Sending you positive vibes and saying prayers for a successful surgery tomorrow!
Hoping this takes care of more than one of your health issues.
Sue
Robert,
I’m so sorry for your losses and that you feel all alone.
It sounds like your health issues are treatable if doctors can figure it out. Keeping you in my thoughts.
Sue
misssuezq,
THANX, so much for taking your precious time to remember me.
Surgery....had to be cancelled 😡 I can't even believe why.... I get sores at the corners of my mouth, too frequent, but I was told it was angular chelitis, by 3 dentists and 1 doctor. I had my worst ever pain on one side only. I decided to see if I could get it swabbed, I did, 2 swabs, 1 for the crusty part and 1 for the open wound... I tested positive for Herpes Simplex virus-1. 😱 shock👿 idiotic dr/dentists😡 pure frustration and anger.
Not to be outdone, long long story ,Dr. said bladder infection and retention and insisted on prescribing an antibiotic that does not work for me. Send me home in pain. 3 days later, nurse calls and says culture is not what dr. thought, throw out current meds and start Cipro...except it's on my list of can't take, dr. says, " since you have problems with too many meds, just finish what you have," good bye 👿 4 more days later I get results from blood cultures (I have never had blood tests for bladder infections). Now I tested positive for 3 staphylococcus strains which included MRSA. No call to tell me what meds I needed to get on, ASAP. When I called them, I got told, oh, those are no big deal. 🤯😡‼️So, I think instead of surgery, I am just gonna become a "hit man", do what a hitman does, then shoot myself, cuz I would never survive jail ROTFLOL🤪🤪 Gee aren't you glad you reached out to me. So, I'm can't plan ahead until I get my blood retested again, and then again cuz the lab didn't send the samples correctly. Good Grief.
I hope you have a wonderful day, laughing at this stupid story. Shelley
