Hi Josie! I take Gabapentin and I'd say I'm in my second month. I graduated to 2700mg. I also take Cat's Claw with the Gabapentin. So far, it helps but doesn't alleviate my pain entirely... I have PN in my whole body. Mostly legs, feet, and hands. I do smoke marijuana and the combination of all is better than nothing.
Some say Lyrica helps. Some say they can't tolerate Gabapentin. PN is quite a conundrum.

Keep working at it—Lyrica has given me great relief. GABA, even at high doses did little for me. I also use a CBD Balm, which gives almost instant for skin level burning paid.. I still have good and bad days. 2 doctors suggested, and my others agreed that I should try Medical Marijuana adjunct to my other meds—-rather than advancing to strong opioids
I have been on the maximum dose of 600 mg of Lyrica a day for the last 10 years. I started with 75 mg a day and over a period of 2 years, it was slowly increased to the maximum level due to the pain level
I was experiencing. Lyrica has been an excellent medication for me, it stops the pain. Side effects, I find my balance is off slightly, but no others that I know of. Without Lyrica I would be in pain 24 hours a day. Everyone is different so you need to experience it to know how it works for you. Please keep updating us on your progress with Lyrica because it helps other people decide what they can try.
I have been on Lyrica [and then the generic form, which is Pregabalin] for about 15 years since it first came out, and was prescribed for Fibromyalgia, Fibro is body wide nerve pain, among many other syndromes that accompany fibro. I have been on various medication for it for 24 years. It is still a misunderstood disease. In response to this original question, which is about Lyrica, it helps very much for all of my pain. Pain never goes away but Lyrica makes it more bearable. I have learned over these 24 years that I must be responsible for learning about how my brain expresses pain. What helps many of us is Deep breathing, which calms the mind, low impact [light] exercise, progressive muscle relaxation, massage therapy, and more. Much of these things can be learned on Youtube!! I learned about true deep breathing by the video Dr Chris Dula Relax, on Youtube. It is life altering. Lyrica caused about 10 pounds of weight gain, but absolutely NOT 100 pounds. This is because it changes something about when we feel sated after eating. I would have ended my life years ago without Lyrica. A person has to work with the doctor until YOU reach the dose that helps YOUR pain. Every single person responds differently.

I’ve been on Lyrica 75mg 3x day for about four months. Makes m off balance and I get brain fog. Tried to go off but too-much pain. Gabapentin same. Left sacro- iliac peripheral neuropathy from a herniated disc.
Thanks for your post. I have been on 75mg every night for the last 3 months. It has helped with the pain in my lower back and a pinched nerve on my left side. I had facet blocks in Nov which lasted 2 months . My condition got worse after and my doctor suggested lyrica. It has been helping but it don't comfortable when I don't take my dose.
I'm having concerns about where all this is going for me ...your condition looks similar

I found lyrica worked better than gabapentin
Same problem for me.

I just wrote a response to your questions about Lyrica.
Medical marijuana has been a life saver for me. I am talking about the gummies with THC, not the ones with CBD, that
do nothing for me at all.
I was taking 300mg twice a day and didn't do anything to help me.
