New diagnosis of "lazy gallbladder." Any advice?

Posted by fdixon63 @fdixon63, Jul 31 12:00pm

My husband was recently diagnosed with lazy gallbladder. He had gone to the ER with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. He had a few of these episodes over the last couple of years. He's had Hida test and CT. Will have EGD and colonoscopy tomorrow. Just wondering what others have experienced with this condition, i.e. surgery, diet...
Thanks.

I have a slow gallbladder, its only working at 17% Dr told me to have surgery , but I changed my diet and haven't had many issues, I do drink dandelion tea once a week, to detox, that's just something I picked up online.

Thanks for your response palermo1. Would you please give us ideas of what diet changes you made. My husband stopped eating raw veggies but we can't be sure that's an issue--just trying something. We would appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Hi I changed my diet by no red meat, I eat lots of fiber,I eat cooked vegetables, chicken breast no skin, lots of fish, everything low fat, low fat mayo low fat peanut butter, cheese bothers me, but its trial and error, some people can have low fat cheese, I drink dandelion tea once a week to detox if there's sludge, I also drink aloe Vera juice on empty stomach, just a gulp of it, and Miramax everyday, no alcohol.
