@ruthieann
I would never attempt to tell you what to do or not to do even though I am on my 3rd pacemaker. These are questions for your EP, Pace Clinic, and maker of your pacemaker.
Many pacemaker have sites (like mine Boston Scientific) where you can asked questions like this and they can use your pacemaker specific type to answer such questions by the manufacturer of your pacemaker.
Many new pacemakers are MRI compliant. Mine is not. It is not the unit but the wires (2006) not the unit which was put it in 2019. But Mayo EP stated could still do MRI but have to adjust pacemaker and they use a special MRI for this. Most new and old pacemakers have restrictions on electronic and electrical interference and specific advice on do's and don'ts.
My suggestions is go directly to the manufacturer of your pacemaker. Then asked the cardiologist/EP who put in your pacemaker and then determine if same advise and follow that.
