Oh my goodness, how helpful you have been! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this information. I have not tried trazodone. I will talk to my doctor about it. I am grateful that I do have a very good GP who I have been seeing for over 10 years. I am 72 now and supposedly these medications behave differently as we age. I don’t know what the reason for the sudden need I’m feeling to increase the dosage, but I’m not keen on it. I feel comfortable that he will help me do what is best. Thank you again for your help. You may be hearing from me again!

Good morning @carolinlv
I thought I would tell you that I consulted with a Naturopathic physician online last year and he told me that as far as sleep medicines go, he believes Trazodone is one of the most benign which also gives the most natural sleep and my past experience with it would reflect that. When I started taking it many years ago because I worked different shifts, I started out at 25 mg which was half a tablet of the lowest dose 50 mg tablet. Most people start out at 50 mg but I have a petite little daughter in law with insomnia and anxiety that started at 200 mg with no side effects! I have just always been sensitive to meds. It worked beautifully and unlike Ambien that I tried, felt like a normal sleep. It is also a very inexpensive medication. I am glad that you have found this online community for support and ideas. My prayers are with you girl. You will get through this and emerge victorious! Check out David Lee “Wu Wei Wisdom” on You Tube. I find him to be wise and compassionate.
