What kind of a doctor deals with muscle spasms?
Does anyone know what kind of a doctor deals with muscle spasms? I get one in one spot on my back about every three months. They are unbearably painful and they last for 4-6 weeks during which time I have to sit in my chair with my heating pad and do nothing. I am 82 and this is not how I planned to spend my last days! I cry.

God Bless You! They are so painful. My primary doctor treated mine with Flexeril 5 mg. I hope this helps. Praying for you. Blessings & Prayers.....
I got a specific magnesium cream from the health food store.
It works really well.
I used to get them too. Very painful and frustrating.
Years ago, I got a knot in my back that lasted almost a year. I saw a neurologist and had all kinds of treatments to no avail. Was getting ready to get a Botox injection when it lifted.
Since then, I’ve seen my primary doctor who referred me to a great therapist. She is awesome and understands how to treat them. She gave me myofascial release, dry needling and exercises to help with my tight joints, which was causing the spasms. Since then, I started daily exercise and the spasms are now very rare. If I have any more, I’ll try to get in with her immediately. She understands how to treat them, imo.
Try Theraworx. Works on leg and stomach muscle. I use the foam, rub it in.
I've tried every product on the market and nothing works. Whatever it is has to go deeper into my skin. I've tried pain patches, chill patches, heat patches, and every pain pill short of opioids, and nothing stops the spasm, but thanks for the thought!
My husbands spine surgeon prescribed methocarbanol for his back spasms. They work for him but make him ornery and grouchy. His spasms nearly make him drop to the floor. He uses a walker until the pills start working. Good luck finding something that works for you.
Neuromusclar neurologist
Thank you. I have methodcarbanol but it makes me sleepy.
Chiropractors help with that I'll take your insurance and I would check your insurance to see what chiropractors are in your area and maybe go to your primary to get a referral for a chiropractor and maybe physical therapy and try to see if you can get massages from the mainstream press and I'm not saying I'm giving you a full truth I'm trying to but I may have some things wrong as well you will only discover those things when you have actually read the full spectrum of story
What do you know about the Botox injections? I've heard of it, but know nothing..
