Thank you for the clarification and additional details and of course your time! Our home was gutted completely in 2022. All floors, all walls, all cabinets and counter tops were torn out and disposed of. All that’s left are the basic bones, ie: subfloor, rafters, frame, roof. When the tree landed it penetrated the roof and internally came into two bedrooms and two bathrooms (through the ceiling). We had indoor water features basically. There are parts of the home that cannot be remediated or removed without deconstructing the outer brick layer. Unfortunately, this is where we were left stranded. We have not lived or spent any time in our home since October of 22. Remediation equipment, fans, ozone, chemical treatment application, etc were put in place in November for a number of days for the initial remediation but the final remediation and re-test has never been completed because of the damaged parts that are difficult to replace without tearing down and starting over. Most unfortunate, was that the toxic mold test confirmation, completed by an environmental company, of the top 3 toxic molds being found in 100% of the airspace was not shared with the textile/restoration company so our personal ‘emergency’ belongings weren’t treated with toxic mold protocol, but only treated with water damage, mold/mildew protocol. These items were brought back to us in November ‘22 and I didn’t uncover that they weren’t treated until the end of December of ‘22. So - we did bring some of these items back into our ‘clean/clear of toxic mold living space’. The headaches, brain fog, lethargy, gastric issues, kidney issues, bladder issues, blood pressure issues, constant upper respiratory infection issues and general aches and pains continued. It did take a little while to stitch all the issues together and understand the common denominator for the acute onset of these issues was our exposure. Now, to get the right medical doctor to be willing to recognize this and then have the experience to treat properly for the long road to recovery has been insanely difficult and so far impossible. I’m not giving up but this devastating experience has not only made us very sick, but destroyed us financially. It is not possible to pay the functional medicine membership fees to gain access to the support or treatment for a family of 5. Further, what guarantee do I have that I have picked the correct ‘membership’ for recovery detox treatment in exchange for $10k-$20k? If I make the wrong choice then I have no way to make sure I get my children treated and recovered/restored. It’s a consistent rock and a hard place nightmare. We moved out of the replacement RV we purchased to move out of the contaminated home because I believe the professionals that should have been ensuring proper protocols were followed, did not do their part and the new temporary home is now contaminated. When I walk into the RV, I begin experiencing sensitivity symptoms and adverse affects within 5-10 minutes. A terrible several chapters in my prescious family’s journey, for sure. Now that my two youngest have general blood tests pointing to organ injury and possible permanent damage, I simply must find the right medical resource to accept our exposure and be capable of devising a recovery treatment plan. That is a little deeper dive into what happened and how we have gotten to where we are today. Of course this is an incredibly abbreviated version, but I’m currently focusing on finding the right medical doctor to ensure my children don’t have to suffer with permanent damage to their bodies and get them back on the road to feeling better.
