Fatty liver disease, as its name implies is caused by too much fat stored in liver cells. The medical name is Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/nonalcoholic-fatty-liver-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20354567
As a liver/kidney transplant recipient, I am aware of the necessity of healthy eating to protect myself from diabetes. Healthy diet, healthy weight, and exercise are the first line of protection and prevention. This includes alcohol consumption.
With your youthful age, and your pre-diabetes diagnosis - What has your doctor advised you about possible dietary modifications, or weight loss?
Rosemary, Thx for the response.
This is Nimi. I am 62, obese, diabetic and have been diagnosed with NASH-2, fatty liver about 3 months ago. I am very scared.
I am having trouble maintaining healthy life style. I try to follow it for 1 day and next day the plan collapses. I need some encouragement and emotional help to put myself together.
@nimi , one big step towards success is knowing that you need help.
It would be unusual to change a lifetime of habits overnight. Personally, I'm struggling with my weight, especially since having a stroke 5-1/2 years ago. I'm in relentless pain, and eating is the only thing I do that doesn't hurt.
Have you thought about working with a counselor or therapist?
If affordability is an issue, there are lots of free resources on the internet. Search YouTube for weight loss videos, or encouragement, etc. And check out my YT channel, too. You may find it helpful:

You can do this! Take it one small step at a time, and be compassionate with yourself.
Thx Scott for the response. I have taken your advice and figuring out my next steps. I watched your first video and will watch rest of them. Thx for the encouragement. I hope with some magic, your pain will go away but please don't overeat. This will help you long term. I used to overeat with work stress or if I become sad. That's how I became obese and has the fatty liver issue now. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for watching a video! I look forward to your feedback from the episodes. I'm working on a new one.
